About LAZER

Now with over 12,000 staff and annual sales exceeding $US3B SHIMANO (and LAZER) is a massive company and a huge player in the cycling industry.
LAZER Road Bike Helmets
BULLET 2.0
Safety
In 1987 LAZER made its first cycling helmet which was a simple 3 leather straps connected by a circle that fits around the head. Jump forward by more than 30 years and LAZER has moved from leather straps to some of the safest helmets in the world and is also the helmet sponsor for one of the world’s best cycling teams, Jumbo-Visma.
In this year’s Tour de France, the world’s most famous cycling race, there were multiple accidents for the riders. One of the worst accidents occurred when Jumbo-Visma rider Tony Martin crash-landed on his helmet-covered head. By accident, a spectator had knocked him over with a cardboard sign. Fortunately, the rider was wearing the LAZER GENESIS (G1) helmet, one of the safest in the world according to the helmet testers at Virginia Tech. The testers calculate the safety of helmets in a simulated accident and gave the GENESIS MIPS a 5-star rating. This was not the only LAZER helmet to receive 5-stars. All the LAZER helmets that were tested with MIPS equipped received the highest score.
